I want to know what brand of laptop really works when i plug the USB into the computer with the camera hooked onto it. So i can transfer my photos and videos. i kept getting the answer to my question is Windows. But which one exactly. I just dont want to get the wrong one. My MacBook Air works great with the L330. The same can be said whether I boot with Windows by using Parallels or BootCamp or Macintosh OSX. Probably any. They all do. Any newer laptop will work. It's the software that helps you download photos. I was using Windows photo gallery standard with Vista and win 7. once you plug your camera in you can choose how to download. Any of them. Do yourself a favour, though, and see if you can find a model with a builtin card reader, and forget about using the USB. Any recent laptop will work with your Nikon CoolPix L330, Laptops will detect that this camera is plugged in and will ask you to either transfer the videos/pictures or let you browse through the pictures. And you probably save your pictures to a SD card, which means that any laptop with a USB can connect a SD Card adapter or may have one already installed, which will work exactly the same way as plugging your camera. When you connect the camera to the computer or laptop to transfer pictures, the camera merely acts as a card reader. The answer is all of them. You can buy any computer or laptop with USB connection and you're good to go. No need for more software, not even the one that comes with the camera itself. The best way to copy pictures from the camera to the computer is to take off the memory card from the camera and use a card reader to connect it to the computer. This method solves all camera to computer connection problems. First you want to give up on the cord furnished by the manufacturer. Buy a Memory Card reader, they are very reasonable price wise. Insert your memory card into the reder and then the unit into an available USB port on your computer or USB extension. Your files will come up in an icon. Click or double click the icon to open it and you wll find usually two folders. Your picture files will usually be in one of the two folders. Just drag & drop each file to your desktop or the program you are using for makiing prints. It is very simple! The meory card reader is NOT camera specific just memory card specific o when you change models or brand cameras of have friend. relatives with an “SD” memory card the reader will work with all of them.
